The open house event I refer to in the video was a session on the residency experience in our MFA program. Both faculty and students chimed in on the magic of being in community with fellow writers. These virtual events are designed so you can get your questions answered and get a taste of the learning experience you’ll enjoy in the program. If you missed any of the events (check out the ones focusing on writing for children and young adults, fiction writing, and creative nonfiction), you can view them on the Alma MFA’s YouTube Channel. If your path leads you to a writing life, I invite you to join us–we are currently recruiting the next cohort of the Alma College MFA in Creative Writing! This is a low-residency graduate degree program that features residencies twice a year. The rest of the semester you work one-on-one with a faculty mentor, submitting packets of writing once a month. I’d love to hear about what you’re writing and your thoughts about joining our artistic community.
